Baaba Maal is calling the name of the ancestor Sidi (son of) Gañsiri (mother) and grandson of Demba (grandfather) from the tooroodo leading class (the noble) and the whole country (saare) to inform them about the passing away of a great person -one of them. Ñiiwa (Elephant), Ngaari (Bull) or Mbaroodi (Lion) is used to name those great persons.   

The death of an elephant, a metaphor for a fallen monarch.
